The River Center is excited to invite all kids (ages 4-11 suggested) to attend our upcoming Junior Naturalist program: Solstice Sundials!
Summer’s here, and the days are getting longer and longer. For this event, we’ll learn about the sun, the summer solstice, and how you can use the sun to tell time! Then we’ll get our hands wet making our very own sundials out of clay! This fascinating tool has been keeping people punctual and delighted since ancient times. With the solstice just around the corner, there’s no better time of year to experience this artful example of historical timekeeping.
All supplies are provided! Clothes for working with clay are recommended. Please RSVP so we can ensure that we have enough supplies. $5 donation appreciated but not required.
