Stories of the River: GiveBIG to Nature

Keep the river stories flowing for generations to come and double your impact this GiveBIG.

Just like the river that winds and flows through many streams and channels, the Dungeness River Nature Center also branches out far and wide in what we offer to our community. And just as the river carries countless stories in everything it touches, so do we.

Like a tributary feeding the river, this spring your gift can provide a stream of support through a special matching opportunity that doubles your impact.

With the Dungeness River Watershed as our landscape of learning and inspiration, the River Center serves as a hub for programs that bring people of all ages together through a shared connection to the natural world. This GiveBIG, we’re sharing “Stories of the River,” voices of those whose lives have been shaped by the River Center and the river that runs alongside it.

Over the course of GiveBIG, you’ll hear how the River Center:

  • Inspired a local student to pursue environmental science at Stanford.
  • Influenced a wildflower walk attendee to move here and join our team.
  • Continues to shape the next generation through youth field trips, nature play, and hands-on discovery.

And this year, we have the opportunity for your gift to work twice by triggering a matching gift from supporters who believe deeply in our mission. If we raise $10,000, it will be matched to reach $20,000. If we raise $15,000, the match increases. This will help us reach a total of $30,000 in support of environmental education and community connection.

These matching funds are a powerful way to sustain the programs and experiences that flow through the River Center every day. They help our work grow and continue making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.

Your donation helps us:

  • Provide hands-on environmental education for youth through field trips and summer camps
  • Offer engaging adult programs like guided nature walks, workshops, and classes
  • Maintain a welcoming space that fosters belonging and connection

The River Center is more than just a building. It’s a place where people come together, where learning, nature, and community meet. Every donation creates a ripple that helps this connection grow and last.

Join us this GiveBIG and be part of the story. We’ll be sharing these stories through email and on social media starting May 6.
