Broom Busters XIII is getting ready to launch its 13th year of fighting back against the invasion of the noxious weed Scotch Broom.

Though they may look harmless, and even beautiful with their bright yellow blooms, these silent invaders threaten the health of our local ecosystem.  This aggressive, noxious weed quickly outcompetes native plants, reduces wildlife habitat, and even poses fire hazards.

Every Wednesday in March, volunteers will gather along the Olympic Discovery Trail to pull invasive Scotch Broom by the roots, restoring habitats and raising funds for environmental education at the River Center.

Last year over 14,000 Scotch Broom plants were removed and over $4,100 was raised for River Center education programs.

Let’s increase those numbers for 2025!

Join our battle against the brooms by donating, volunteering, and spreading awareness.
