The Dungeness River Nature Center is seeking a warm, responsible, community-minded Seasonal Park Host(s) to live onsite at Railroad Bridge Park and help us create a welcoming, safe, and inspiring place for visitors.
Location: Dungeness River Nature Center & Railroad Bridge Park – Sequim, WA
Season: April – October 2026
Compensation: This is a volunteer host position and does not include wages; compensation is provided in the form of a full-hookup RV site. (20 hrs/week commitment)

About the Role
This is a seasonal, unpaid volunteer position in exchange for a free RV site with full hookups and high-speed internet.
Commitment
- 20 hours per week
- Structured as 3.5 days on / 3.5 days off
- Schedule includes weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays if they fall on your assigned days
- Hours may be fulfilled by one person or split between two people
The overall workload is manageable, but consistency, presence, and reliability are essential.
What You’ll Do
Be a Park Ambassador
- Welcome visitors and foster a friendly, respectful atmosphere
- Lead by example and follow park rules
Visitor Engagement
- Answer questions about the park and River Center
- Help guests feel informed and welcome
Park Presence & Safety
- Be onsite and available during peak hours
- Address minor disruptions appropriately
- Contact staff or law enforcement when necessary
(This is not an enforcement role — professionalism and calm communication are key.)
Daily Operations
- Open and close park facilities
- Ability to walk extended distances on uneven terrain and monitor paved and unpaved trails as part of regular park rounds.
- Clean and monitor indoor and outdoor restrooms
- Mop indoor spaces as needed (typically about once per week)
- Garbage and litter removal Must be able to lift up to 40–50 pounds occasionally.
- Assist with morning and evening park operations
Ongoing Care & Maintenance
- Maintain overall park cleanliness
- Raking, light weeding, and keeping grounds in good order
- Refill bird feeders
- Light maintenance tasks
- Comfortable driving an electric UTV for park-related duties
- Assist with special events and annual community activities
- Attend weekly check-ins with River Center staff
Technology
- Comfortable learning and assisting with basic Audio Visual systems

Important Expectations
We prioritize a safe, welcoming environment. Smoking, Illegal drug use, threatening behavior, or unauthorized enforcement of rules is strictly prohibited. Hosts must remain cordial and non-confrontational at all times.
This agreement may be terminated by either party with 20 days written notice.
