The diversity of habitats found within the Dungeness River Watershed make the area a suitable home for a wide variety of wildlife.
From alpine ridges, to lush forested slopes, to lowland plains, and the sheltered calm waters of the estuary; life abounds. Large mammals such as Roosevelt Elk, and small invertebrates such as a Stonefly you may find hiding under a river rock, all play a unique role in the health and function of their community.
