Book Talk: “Dungeness” with Karen Polinsky and Sherry Macgregor
Friday, Nov. 13, 2026 | 5:30 p.m.
Presenters: Karen Polinsky (author) & Sherry Macgregor (S’Klallam elder)
Celebrate the all-new edition of Dungeness, which features a new essay by Sherry Macgregor, a S’Klallam elder and scholar on Coast Salish canoe culture. Dungeness, a 19th century coming-of-age mystery solved by local history, is inspired by Mary Ann Lambert, the turn-of-the-century S’Klallam chronicler. Sherry Macgregor will share memories and photos of her brilliant & eccentric great-aunt, as well as her thoughts on Dungeness, a fictional foray into her family’s past. Together, Sherry & Karen will examine how curiosity about our local history can create community, and a more resilient democracy.
