Delve into the delightful world of flowering plants as we celebrate spring with a nature journaling class. This class will feature a short natural history lesson on flowering plants and a hands-on art lesson with local artist Robert Amaral. Following the lesson we will spend time exploring Railroad Bridge Park practicing nature journaling, art, and observation skills. All skill levels are welcome!
Bring a lunch or snacks and dress in comfortable layers. The coffee shop will be open during the class.
The following is a list of suggested materials to use. You do not need to purchase anything on the list if you already have these or similar materials. If you have favorite drawing materials – papers, pencils, pastels, etc. – you are welcome to bring them!
• Pencils: HB, 2B, 6B
• Colored Pencils
• Pencil Sharpener
• Erasers: Kneaded eraser and Magic Rub eraser
• Sketchbook or Paper: The size should be at least 9” x 12” or larger.
• Watercolor paints & palette
• Watercolor brushes: Rounds: #1 or #2, #6; Flats: 1/2’’ or 1’’ OR Niji water brushes
• 2 water cups & paper towels
• Watercolor Pencils
