About the Film – Tracking Notes: The Secret World of Mountain Lions
This documentary unveils an extraordinary, non-invasive study of mountain lions, conducted over a decade in the remote wilds of Montana. Using a vast network of trail cameras and interviews with researchers and volunteers from MPG Ranch, the filmmakers have pieced together an intimate portrait of these elusive big cats.
Through a combination of video footage and genetic data collected from hair and other natural samples, the study reveals the life stories of individual mountain lions. You’ll witness never-before-seen behaviors and remarkable interactions with other wildlife and the forest around them, all woven into a narrative that brings the hidden world of these apex predators to light.
