Second Annual River Center Charity Golf Tournament
The second annual River Center Charity Golf Tournament will be held Fri., July 31, and Sat. and Sun., Aug. 1 and 2, 2020 at The Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course.
A two-person scramble, the tournament is a fundraising event for the Dungeness River Audubon Center, sponsored by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and Seven Cedars Resort. Cost includes green fees, golf cart, range balls, a boxed lunch and prizes. Tournament entry fee is $80 per person. Teams play only once during the tournament.
To register, call the Pro Shop at 360-683-6344.
NOTE: State health guidelines now allow foursomes. You may book a foursome for the River Center Tournament play dates. Tee times are set to minimize physical contact on the course to comply with limitations on physical distance during the pandemic.
A “virtual tournament,” players will tee off, play their round and then turn scores into the Pro Shop. The winning pair in multiple categories will be announced via e-mail with tournament prizes for pickup or mailed to winners.
The “two-person scramble” tournament format is designed for players to compete equally, at any level of golf proficiency: Two people comprise a team, each person tees off and subsequent shots are hit from the position of either of the team’s “best shot” (farthest, best fairway position, closest to the hole–including putts). The score per hole is the total of the team’s best shots played.
All proceeds benefit the Dungeness River Audubon Center’s ongoing operations.
The River Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit, offers year-round adult education, workshops and field trips, as well as educating over 3,000 schoolchildren from Clallam and Jefferson counties, each year, with daylong watershed and nature studies. The Center is located on the Dungeness River at Railroad Bridge Park.
The Cedars at Dungeness is located at 1965 Woodcock Road in Sequim and includes two restaurants overlooking the first fairway.
