Location & Directions
The Dungeness River Nature Center is in a quiet, wooded, 75-acre park, adjacent to the Dungeness River. The river’s headwaters begin in alpine meadows in Olympic National Park and plunges 38 miles to its salt-water estuary on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Vehicle Access
From Highway 101 and the River Road exit, the Center is at the west end of Hendrickson Road, Sequim.
Pedestrian Access
The Olympic Discovery Trail: A former railroad bed from Port Townsend to the Pacific Coast is now a public pedestrian and cycling paved trail. The trail, with numerous access points, crosses the Dungeness River on a historic railroad bridge accessible within feet from the Center.
Public access to the River Center and Railroad Bridge Park is free.
