Studies have shown that slow, calming walks in the forest can produce amazing health benefits. Using all of your senses to experience a walk in the woods can result in a boost for the immune system, lower blood pressure and improvements in mood for those with depression. We will draw on the principles of a practice often referred to as “Forest Bathing” to experience the natural world in new health-enhancing ways.
Join Instructor Connie for a guided session. She holds a 150 hour certificate in Shinrin Yoku from the Centre of Excellence and has years of experience leading guided meditations.
Although the quarter-mile trail to the River is not ADA, it is relatively flat and the walking pace will be slow. This program lasts 1 to 1.5 hours and will finish with a tea service in the woods.
Wear comfortable layers adequate for the weather.
This program counts as “Nature for Emotional Health” for your Nature Wellness Challenge stamp card.
