Program Registration, Cancellation & Refund Policy

The River Center offers a variety of fee-based programs, including camps, lectures, workshops, and guided experiences. Registration helps us plan staffing, materials, and capacity. We appreciate your understanding of the following policies!

Cancellations & Refunds

Camps and Fee-Based Programs

  • Cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the program start date are eligible for a full refund.

  • Cancellations made within two weeks of the program start date, including the week of the program, are non-refundable.

In some cases, a refund may be issued if the vacated spot can be filled by another participant (for example, through an existing waitlist). If a replacement participant is confirmed, a full refund will be issued. Please note that refunds under these circumstances are not guaranteed and depend on program demand.

Medical Emergencies

Refunds or credits may be granted in the case of a medical emergency or illness affecting the participant. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Guided Walks & Weather-Dependent Programs

Guided walks and other outdoor programs are non-refundable if canceled within two weeks of the scheduled date. If River Center staff determine that weather conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, a full refund will be issued.

Participants who are unable to attend may request to transfer their registration credit to a future guided walk (typically offered the following month), subject to availability. Credit transfers must be requested via email and are not issued automatically.

Program Cancellations by the River Center

If a program is canceled by the River Center due to weather, low enrollment, or other unforeseen circumstances, registered participants will be offered a full refund.

Additional Information

  • Refunds are issued using the original form of payment.
