Ecology of the Dungeness
a six-week class presented by the Dungeness River Audubon Center on Thursday mornings, July 10 to August 14. The Dungeness is an amazing river, cascading over 7000 feet in only 35 miles, one of the steepest rivers in North America. This class will focus on different sections of the river, looking at the geology, plant and animal communities, aquatic invertebrates, and how humans have changed the river. Each session will begin at 9 a.m. and last 2 to 4 hours, depending on location. Field trips will range from the river's mouth to the upper sections of the river. To register, contact the Dungeness River Audubon at 360-681-4076, or email rivercenter@olympus.net.
