Read the instructions containing ALL you need to know! (PDF) and register.
Choose the activity or activities you’d most enjoy doing for Spring Fling, such as walking, biking, hiking, swimming, riding your horse, running, dancing, gardening, or birding. Then set your own schedule and have fun while getting fit for a worthy cause. All participants age 16 and older must raise or donate at least $50 (but we hope you will raise more!). Participants under age 16 must raise or donate at least the amount equal to their age (but we hope you’ll raise more, too!)

Spring Fling starts on May 1

Bring lunch/snacks, water, layers of clothes, comfortable shoes, visor/cap, sunscreen, camera, binoculars & a smile.
Saturday, May 1: World Labyrinth Day “Walk as One at 1:00 p.m.” World Labyrinth Day is intended as a day that brings people from all over the planet together in celebration of the labyrinth as a symbol, a tool, a passion or a practice. Saturday, May 1: Discover Railroad Bridge Park (2-3 miles round trip) with Julie Jackson. 2:00 p.m. Meet at the Dungeness River Audubon Center. Take a leisurely stroll through the woods on foot paths in the Park and along the original segment of the Olympic Discovery Trail, as we enjoy the spring birds, plants, and spectacular views. Tuesday morning, May 4: Bird Walk, Dungeness Recreation Area (3 miles round trip) Dave and Julie Jackson. 8:30 a.m. Meet at the first parking lot inside the gate on Voice of America Drive. Tuesday, May 4: The Dungeness River in the mountains Hike, Camp Handy 6.4 miles round trip - 600' elevation gain with John Bridge. 8:30 am meet at Sequim's Public Parking next to the Buzz to carpool. An easy hike along the upper Dungeness through a great stand of large Douglas Firs. Driving time 45 minutes. Hiking time 3.5 hours. Contact: John Bridge, (360) 683-3151, jbridge@olypen.com. Friday, May 7: Robin Hill Farm Park Hike (3+ miles round trip- some up & down) with Doug and Gretha Davis. 9am meet at Sequim's Public Parking (east side of Sequim, between WA & Cedar) to carpool. A lovely hike on the foot & equestrian paths through forests & field with the birds, flowers & mushrooms. Driving time 30min and hiking time 2-2.5 hours. Sunday, May 9: Railroad Bridge Trestle and Olympic Discovery Trail Walk (3 level miles round trip) with Lyn Muench. Look for dippers in the Dungeness River, and warblers in the forest. Tuesday, May 11: Dungeness River in the mountains Hike, Lower Graywolf River ; 9.6 miles round trip - 700' elevation gain with John Bridge. 8:30 am meet at Sequim's Public Parking next to the Buzz to carpool. Friday, May 14: Hike on the Dungeness Spit to the New Dungeness Light Station, (11 Miles round trip) with Doug & Gretha Davis. 9 am meet at Sequim's Public Parking (east side of Sequim, between WA & Cedar) to carpool. A “flat hike” except for climbing the stairs in the light tower for the 360 degree views, and an uphill to the bluff to return. It’s a wonderful low tide, so the beach walk will be great. Taking a tour of the Light Station’s history is very special. Driving time 30 min and hiking time 5-6 hours. Sunday May 16: Johnson Creek Trestle to Sequim Bay State Park, (3 miles round trip along the Olympic Discovery Trail) with Lyn Muench. 2:00 pm meet at White Feather Way parking lot for Olympic Discovery Trail. Tuesday, May 18: The Dungeness River in the mountains Hike, Slab Camp Trail and then downstream on the Graywolf for a mile 7 miles round trip - 1200' elevation gain with John Bridge. 8:30 am meet at Sequim's Public Parking next to the Buzz to carpool. A down to the river and then back up hike. After we get to the river we will hike downstream for a mile on a little used trail to view a spectacular gorge. Driving time 35 minutes. Friday May 21: Hike the Miller Peninsula, (9 miles round trip- some up & down) with Doug & Gretha Davis. 9am meet at Sequim's Public Parking (east side of Sequim, between WA & Cedar) to carpool. A wonderful hike in & out of forests, with a stop at the water’s edge looking out at Protection Island. Driving time 40 min. and hiking time 4.5 -5.5 hours. Sunday May 23: Walk the Morse Creek Trestle to the river mouth, (3 miles round trip) with Lyn Muench. Discover the beautiful lower Morse Creek Valley. Meet at Morse Creek parking lot. Tuesday May 25: Dungeness River in the mountains Hike, Deer Ridge , 6 miles round trip - 1800' elevation gain with John Bridge. 8:30 am meet at Sequim's Public Parking next to the Buzz to carpool. A more uphill hike with great views of the mountains surrounding the Graywolf drainage. Driving time 35 minutes. Hiking time 4.5 hours. Contact: John Bridge, (360) 683-3151, jbridge@olypen.com. Tuesday, May 25: Bird Walk, Miller Peninsula (2 hours plus) Karen and Joe Zook. 8:30 a.m. Meet in QFC parking lot near the gas station to carpool. Friday May 28: Hike from Salt Creek to Striped Peak, (5 miles round trip about 1,000ft. of up & down) with Doug & Gretha Davis. 9am meet at Sequim's Public Parking (east side of Sequim, between WA & Cedar) to carpool. A wonderful hike in & out of forests, some of which is old growth, as well as enjoying the tidal waters. Driving time 90 min. and hiking time 3-3.5 hours. To be considered for an award, you must submit your individual Results Form (PDF or editable Excel), pledge sheets, and money raised (at least $50 for participants age 16 and above) by this deadline. Please submit a form no matter how little you raised since every bit helps the River Center and Railroad Bridge Park!
Saturday, June 5: Spring Fling Frolic and Awards, 3-5 p.m., Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park
Join us at the Spring Fling Awards Frolic in Railroad Bridge Park. We’ll have awards, refreshments, surprises, and fun for all! Awards and prizes will be distributed at 4:00 pm. You do not have to attend the party to win. However, if you can't attend, you must make your own arrangements to pick up your prize at the Dungeness River Audubon Center.
